Wayne Church/Boy Scout Non-Contact Food Drive, Sat, Sept 19
September 19 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Wayne Church has teamed with local Boy Scout Troop, Devon 50, for a huge Food Donation event Saturday, September 19th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
A large successful food drive in May helped meet early demand from the pandemic and literally tons of food were collected and distributed. But heading into the fall months, the food supply needs to be replenished.
Food will be collected in TWO locations. During these four hours, donors may drop off food and other necessities behind the Radnor War Memorial, in the municipal parking lot at the corner of South Wayne and Runnymeade Avenues(bordered by Wayne Church and the Radnor Fire Company). Donations may also be dropped at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 600 Walker Road, Wayne.
Donations will be collected at both sites using a Non-Contact Car Drop-Off process. (Just pull up, pop open your trunk and the volunteers will do the heavy lifting.)
Wayne Church (a United Methodist community in Wayne, PA) has been successfully operating a food pantry for many years. With regularity, it provides 40-60 bags of groceries to needy neighbors every week. The demand this year from local families looking for help has sky-rocketed.
Donations of any kind are welcome, from food goods, to toiletries, to diapers/formula and even gift cards. Many donors have begun purchasing local small business gift cards which allow them to support those in need on both sides of the equation!
