Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) introduced her amendment to H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, of which she is a cosponsor.
The amendment strongly encourages the United States to go above and beyond the requirements outlined in the Paris Agreement and aggressively employ diplomacy to work with our partners around the world to take swift and decisive action to combat climate change.
“Climate change is one of the gravest threats we face,” said Houlahan. “In the absence of action, climate change will threaten our national security, health, and economy. I am proud to have introduced this important amendment to H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act. Rejecting the President’s plan to leave the Paris Agreement is a critical first step, but we need to be clear that our efforts will not end there. We must work with our allies around the globe to ensure we are all taking the necessary bold steps to combat climate change.”
