Easttown children stepped up to vote in record numbers on this past November 2018 Election Day.

Selecting from four candidates in two categories, an impressive 176 kids cast votes for their “Favorite Pet” and  “Favorite Super Power”. 

There were some difficult choices among an impressive slate of candidates but Dog easily defeated Cat, Fish or Reptile for “Favorite Pet” while Invisibility crushed Super Strength, Flying, and Super Speed for “Favorite Super Power“.  The largest vote recipient was “Dog” with 46 votes and “Invisibility” was the runner-up with 36 votes.

The ballots and ballot boxes for the children were available at the Easttown Township Democratic Committee (ETDC) Greeter Tables. It’s the first time ETDC sponsored the boxes and ballots and the reaction was fabulous with so many children enjoying the opportunity to cast their votes on Election Day with their parents. It was a lot of fun seeing the kids carefully decide how they wanted to vote.

There were a lot of smiles and pictures shared of families voting together on social media. ETDC expects to continue the tradition for future elections so be sure to bring the kids and make voting a family affair!
