2020 Important Election Dates For Voters & Candidates

ELECTION DATES FOR VOTERS

  • March 9 – First day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot for the April 28th Primary.
  • March 30 – Last day to register for Easttown residents before the April 28th Primary. If you are not a U.S. citizen and a resident of Pennsylvania at least 30 days before the next election, you CANNOT register to vote.
  • April 21 – Last day for Easttown residents to apply for an absentee ballot for April 28th Primary. 
  • April 24 – Last day for the Chester County Board of Elections to receive a civilian absentee ballot from an Easttown voter. Ballots must be received by 5PM. Voters should mail their absentee ballot at least two weeks before the April 28th General Primary due to possible late deliveries by the US Postal Service.
  • April 28 GENERAL PRIMARY. Voting booths open from 7AM to 8PM.
  • April 29 – First day to register after the  April 28th General Primary.
  • May 5 – Last day for Chester County Board of Elections to receive voted military and absentee ballots (submitted for delivery no later than 11:59PM on April 27)
  • September 14 – First day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.
  • October 5 – Last day to register before the November general election.
  • October 27 – Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.
  • October 30 – Last day for the Chester County Board of Elections to receive a civilian absentee ballot from an Easttown voter. Ballots must be received by 5PM. Voters should mail their absentee ballot at least two weeks before the Novembre 3rd General Election due to possible late deliveries by the US Postal Service.
  • November 3 GENERAL ELECTION. Voting booths are open from 7AM to 8PM.

ELECTION DATES FOR CANDIDATES

  • January 28 – First day to circulate and file nomination petitions for General Primary.
  • February 18 – Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions for General Primary
  • February 19 – First day to circulate and file nomination papers for General Primary.
  • March 4 – Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed notation petitions for General Primary.
  • April 28 – GENERAL PRIMARY. Voting booths are open from 7AM to 8 PM.
  • August 3 – Last day to circulate and file nomination papers for General Election
  • August 10 – Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers.
  • August 10 – Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the General Primary.
  • November 3 – GENERAL  ELECTION. Voting booths are open from 7AM to 8PM.
